With 50 years of experience working with dreams and dreamers, Layne Dalfen is a leading authority in the field of dream analysis. She is the founder of The Dream Interpretation Center, established in 1997, and her passion for dream work began during her early years in Freudian analysis, where she discovered the power of dreams as a tool for self-understanding.

Layne’s expertise is grounded in her studies at the Gestalt Counselling & Training Center and her training in Adlerian Principles of Dream Analysis at the Alfred Adler Institute. Since 2004, she has shared her knowledge by teaching dream analysis to counseling students at Concordia University in Montreal.

She is the author of two books: *Have A Great Dream, Book 1: The Overview* and *Have A Great Dream, Book 2: A Deeper Discussion*. Central to her message is the idea that solutions to our everyday problems often appear first in our dreams. Layne developed the 6-Point of Entry method, a practical approach that anyone can use to understand the meaning behind their dreams and enhance their problem-solving skills.

Layne’s insights have been featured in over 50 magazines, including Poosh, Cosmopolitan, and The New York Post. She is widely recognized for her “Understanding Dreams” column in Psychology Today and as “The Dream Catcher” for Oprah Daily.

Her recent consulting work with Pixar contributed to the movie Dream Productions, now streaming on Disney Plus.

A sought-after speaker, Layne delivers keynote addresses and Dreaminar® workshops for corporations, libraries, and groups. She has brought her unique brand of fun and insight to events for organizations such as IKEA and SnapChat, making her the perfect addition to any event or party looking for an engaging and memorable experience.

Layne’s contributions have not gone unnoticed. She is a proud member of the International Association for the Study of Dreams (IASD), a testament to her commitment to advancing the understanding of dreams on a global scale.

Testimonials

I have just finished reading Have a Great Dream, which I found very intriguing and informative. It gives the readers practical tools to begin the journey of interpreting and understanding the meaning of their dreams. I enjoyed Layne Dalfen’s conversational and friendly manner to write about her life experience with dream interpretation. Her books open a door for the readers to walk out into the field and see the landscape of their own personal human experience, and is an invitation to explore it.

Layne Dalfen presented a dream interpretation workshop at Concordia University during the month of November of 2008, in which I attended as a student. Layne was interactive, energetic, and knowledgeable in her discipline of dream therapy. Layne introduced several theories, interpretations and respective insights on dream therapy and its uses. Her presence at Concordia university produced high energy and a positive environment for all the attendees. The entire workshop participants were thankful of her presence, which included, from her, a humble and humorous attitude throughout the course of the workshop.

These books’ strength is its accessibility and down-to-earth style. Throughout the text the reader has a sense of having a private conversation with Dalfen whose style is friendly, colloquial and upbeat. Anyone who is new to working with their dreams will find a refreshing and demystifying explanation of how dreams contain treasures for us both in how to understand ourselves better and in offering solutions to the problems in our lives.
