📚Outlive: The Science and Art of Longevity”** (co-authored with Dr. Peter Attia)
📚Spring Chicken: Stay Young Forever (or Die Trying)
Bill Gifford is a dynamic journalist and the co-author behind the runaway #1 New York Times bestseller, “Outlive,” alongside Dr. Peter Attia. As a recognized authority on health and longevity, Bill excels at demystifying complex scientific breakthroughs for audiences of all backgrounds. His previous work, “Spring Chicken: Stay Young Forever (or Die Trying),” also achieved New York Times bestseller status, further cementing his reputation in the field.
As far as speaking topics, Bill’s standard talk has been “Inside Outlive: Insights and Takeaways from the Worldwide Longevity Bestseller.” However, he has recently been branching out with talks on:
— The Longevity Economy: How the global obsession with healthy living is changing businesses and creating opportunities around the world.
— Rethinking Medicine:How can we change Western medicine to focus on keeping people healthier for longer? And is it already changing? (Surprisingly: yes!)
— Healthyish: How to make sense of the overwhelming amount of health content out there, and make sustainable changes to your own life. Too often, health influencers and podcasters make getting healthy seem like a full-time job, with complicated morning routines and “protocols.” It’s overwhelming, and people think they need to be “perfect.” In this talk, Bill digs into research around diet, exercise, sleep, and mental health — and finds that, overwhelmingly, it’s the first step that creates the biggest benefits. Going from being sedentary to just a few minutes of activity per day reduces the risk of chronic disease, for example; small dietary changes have been found to have a huge impact.
While his passion for health and longevity is undeniable, Bill’s adventurous spirit has led him to explore topics like big-wave surfing, professional cycling, performance-enhancing drugs, Alpine ski racing, and BASE jumping—activities that test the limits of human endurance. His insightful writing has graced the pages of Bloomberg Businessweek, Wired, Scientific American, Inc., Men’s Health, and Outside. Originally from Washington, D.C., Bill now resides in Salt Lake City with his family, where he is eagerly working on his next book about health and physiology.
